Mangaluru, February 20: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport have seized gold worth Rs 18.90 lakhs, concealed in the rectum of a passenger on Thursday February 19th.
The passenger is identified as Mohammed Sharoon (22), is a resident of SMB Lane near Kandathpalli, Mangaluru.
Sharoon arrived at Mangalore International Airport from Dubai by Jet Airways Flight No 9W531, on Thursday at about 08.45 hours. Six 10-tola gold bars totally weighing 700 grams, valued at Rs 18.90 lakhs, was found concealed in rectum of the passenger.
Further investigations are underway.
