Free medical camp organized at the newly built Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre on Sunday

Mangaluru, February 19:  A free medical camp will be organized at the newly established Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre, run by Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) at Deralakatte in outskirts of Mangaluru on Sunday, February 22nd.

U Kanachur Monu, chairman of the institute informed this at a press meet held here on Thursday. He said, various advanced facilities will also be inaugurated on this occasion.

 He also revealed that the new hospital consists of a spacious out­-patient department block, central laboratory and facilities such as X-ray, ultrasound scanning, blood bank, operation theatres, intensive care units (ICUs), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), etc.

He said, on this occasion, district in-­charge minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the new out­ patient department (OPD) block. Kollam Haji Abdul Azeez – chairman of Azeezia Medical College will inaugurate the new casualty block. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, will inaugurate the new radiology block with advanced equipment. Minister for sports and youth services Abhayachandra Jain will inaugurate the Neo­Natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Dr Mohammed Ismail will inaugurate the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The central laboratory at the hospital will be inaugurated by Chairman of SCDCC Bank M N Rajendra Kumar and managing director of Karnataka Bank Jayaram Bhat will inaugurate the integrated blood bank, he informed.

Free medical camp for patients:  Dr Khaja Naseeruddin – Dean of the institute said that a free medical camp would be inaugurated on Sunday by Health Minister U T Khader, in order to benefit the people. Kanachur Arogya medical card will also be launched by Minister Khader on this occasion, he said.

MLA Moideen Bava, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Puttur MLA Shakunthala Shetty, Sathish Kumpala, N S Kareem, along with others will be the guests of honour.

He said, the hospital was established at a total cost of Rs 200 crore.

Dr Arunachalam Kumar – Vice chairman of Kanachur Hospital Advisory Board and Dr Devi Prasad were present during the press meet.
