Mangaluru, February 19: The success of the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) is the fruit of the efforts of six generations expressed Dr K Radhakrishnan, former chairman of ISRO. He spoke about the functioning of ISRO and the success of Mangalyan during the 92nd Founder’s Day celebration of Karnataka Bank on Wednesday February 18th.
He said that the Mangalyaan mission has brood a lot of interest among youngsters and over 3 lakh youngsters have appreciated their efforts through messages via social media and most interesting factor is that maximum youths are between 18-25 years.
He revealed that when MOM was proposed initially, we were criticized, but the criticism was taken in a positive way and now the whole world is viewing us in a different manner. We have achieved it in the first attempt while even developed countries could not do it in several attempts. India is now looking forward for Chandrayan -2 and Aditya missions, he said.
He said, today, 25 Indian satellites are working which is responsible for making the lives of people different than from 1980’s. With the help of these satellites, effective disaster management communication and navigation system is made possible. Successfully, three GPS navigation satellites have been launched and one more will be launched by next March. The nation is on its way in attaining reliable space satellites, he said.
Ananthakrishna, the chairman of Karnataka Bank, in his address, said the bank has rised to higher level after facing several challenges in the past. The bank intends to further extend its service to the society, he informed.
