Mangalore, May 31: Schools in the district have already started effective from May 31, Friday onwards for the academic year 2013-2014.Children,Parents and teachers, officials of school administration are busy preparing themselves for the same.
Non supply of books on time:
Text books for the children of government and aided schools are being supplied by government and deserved students are being provided by different community organizations.
Distribution of text books is still in process and supply of free text books from the government also not arrived on time. Only 11, 44,159 have been received so far as against the actual requirement of 9, 40,020 and 2, 04,139 text books yet to be received.
Un-aided schools have sent their requisition for 5, 35,123 text books. Out of which 4, 11,717 have already been sold and remaining distribution of free books and sale will be done in the first week of June as informed by school authorities. Therefore it remained a distant dream for the students who joined on May 31, Friday. Besides uniforms, cycles are not available now.
Bisiyoota (Lunch) with sweet:
From the day one of beginning of the school, hot lunch (Bisiyoota) will be served or the students along with sweets. In this contest employees of “Akshara Dhaasoha” are getting ready for the special preparation. Special attention is also being taken on school instruments and ensures that children will face any problem on the first day of opening.
On the first day of school opening children are coming to school with colorful dresses, exchange the experiences of different places they visited amongst themselves and on the other side teachers are busy asking questions about the student’s experiences during holidays. Totally it is a different world, different experience on the first day of school opening for the children.
