Mangalore, May 31: It has been reported in the city that Bangalore based “The imagine trust”,NGO in collaboration with two schools of Mangalore, has taken its first step towards creating green schools in Mangalore and took up the pilot project in St.Joseph’s Joyland school,Kolya and infant Jesus Joyland school Bolar.
Volunteers from the Imagine conducted half day class for teachers from these schools on May 25, Saturday with the participation of around 50 teachers and culminated in preparing green project for school.
The main agenda was a session ‘plastic menace’ by well known social activists Mrs.Vineetha Rai. The teachers delivered a speech about how to use, reduce, re-use and recycle and apart from handling plastic woes, the workshop also touched upon living green lives.
Reducing usage of plastic bags in its campus, encourage students in re-usage of items, encourage re-cycle craft, composting, e-waste collection and many creative ways to create awareness in the local community.
