Mangalore/Kundapur, May 30: It was reported on May 29, Wednesday night that Dinesh Acharya, co-convener of Bajrangdal of Kundapur unit was thrashed by public for allegedly entering a house Kadlur and trying to molest a married woman.
Sources said Dinesh had entered the house which was situated near the Masjid in the vicinity and was trying to outrage a modesty of woman.
Luckily, her sister who was inside the house raised an alarm by crying for help. On hearing her scream locals rushed to the house and thrashed Acharya left and right and in the process Acharya injured seriously.
Kundapur police who rushed to the spot and admitted Dinesh to hospital.
Naushad, Obedulla, Jeffrey, Mohammed Rafiq, Sayed and Muzambil have been trapped and search for other two, who have escaped is underway.
Security has been beefed up in village following incident and senior police officials including Yashoda, DYSP, Kundapur have visited the place.
Sources said that husband of the victim woman is working in Dubai.
A case of attempted rape has been lodged in Kundapur police station and Dinesh too lodged a complaint in the same police station against some people who assaulted him.
