Mangalore; Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Regional Implementation Office (South) conferred Rajbhasha Vishisht Samman on Shri Ajai Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director of Corporation Bank and Chairman TOLIC, Mangalore for his outstanding contribution to implementation and propagation of Official Language Hindi. The Award was conferred during the 54rd Meeting of the Town Official Language Committee (TOLIC), Mangalore, held at Corporation Bank Head Office on 28th May 2013.
Shri Ajai Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director of Corporation Bank and Chairman of TOLIC, Mangalore chaired the meeting. Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Dy. Director, Regional Implementation Office (South), Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, Government of India was present. Heads of member organisations comprising Central Government Departments, Government Undertakings and Public Sector Banks attended the meetings along with their Official Language officials.
In his address, Shri Ajai Kumar, CMD of Corporation Bank complimented the members for the various activities organized during the last half-year. He opined that such activities create congenial atmosphere for the implementation of official language in Government Offices. He emphasized the need to use more technology in the implementation of official language. He also inaugurated Mangalore TOLIC’s website, www.mangaloretolic.com on the occasion.
Shri P.S. Baliga, General Manager, Corporation Bank welcomed the gathering. In his opening remarks Shri Baliga stressed the need for Office heads to motivate their staff members to work in official language Hindi. Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, Dy. Director (Implementation), Regional Implementation Office, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India reviewed the quarterly progress reports on Official Language implementation submitted by the member organisations and guided them regarding various statutory provisions in respect of implementation of Official Language. Dr. Jayanti Prasad Nautiyal, Member Secretary of the Committee & Assistant General Manager, Corporation Bank, in his address gave a brief on the latest developments in the field of official language implementation.
Shri Ajai Kumar, Chairman of the Committee gave away the trophies to the best performing institutions in the field of Official Language implementation during the year 2012-13. Corporation Bank (Administrative Offices category), State Bank of India (Bank Branches), MRPL (Central Government Undertakings), All India Radio, Mangalore (Central Government Category) & Bankers’ Institute for Rural Development (BIRD) (Training Institutions Category) bagged first prize in their respective categories. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by the Member Secretary.
