Mangalore, February 6: Justice D H Waghela, Chief Justice, High Court of Karnataka would be inaugurating a one-day seminar on ‘Juvenile Justice Act’ and ‘Child Protection’ here on Saturday informed Uma M G, Principal District and Sessions Judge of DK.
Speaking at a press meet on Friday in the city, she said the workshop will be inaugurated at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday at Nethravathi auditorium at Zilla Panchayat. The event will be presided over by Justice Huluvadi G Ramesh.
On the occasion, Justice Abdul Nazeer and Justice A N Venugopala Gowda will be the chief guests.
She also informed that, during the inaugural programme,P P Hegde-chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, Tulasi Maddideni – ZP CEO, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Murugan and SP Dr S D Sharanappa will be the special guests. Ashok G Nijagannavar, member secretary of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority will be the convenor.
she said that the workshop is organized under the joint collaboration of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, Dakshina Kannada District Legal Services Authority, Mangaluru, D K District Administration, Juvenile Justice Board, District Child Protection Unit, Mangalore Bar Association, Department of Women and Child Development and Child Welfare Committee, Mangaluru.
Uma M G also informed that a workshop on Law for advocates on Saturday will be organized in the district court premises and it will be inaugurated at 5 p.m. on Saturday by Justice D H Waghela.
She also said that the newly constructed court complex at Moodbidri, will be inaugurated by Justice D H Waghela on Sunday.
The new three storied court complex will have two court halls and other amenities, she said.
