Mangaluru, January 13: A woman was murdered when she was alone at home on Monday, January 12th night at Meenakaliya, near Panambur – the outskirts of Mangaluru. On Tuesday January 13th the incident came to light.
The deceased, is identified as Kalpana (25), from Uttar Pradesh; was working as a coolie worker.
Police sources said that on January 12th, at night when Kalpana’s husband Rajesh left to work on night shift, she was attacked with a sickle and crushed using a heavy stone in the bathroom.
The incident came to light on Tuesday when Rajesh returned from work who found Kalpana amidst a pool of blood.
The recently married couple Rajesh and Kalpana, both from UP, were staying in the city since four months.
Kalpana worked during the day, and Rajesh, who is also a coolie worker at the railway yard, works during both day and night shifts.
Sources said that Rajesh has been taken for inquiry.
Panambur cops have registered a case. The body was sent for autopsy.
