State Government forms 29 new GP’s in Mangaluru district and 16 new GP’s in Udupi district.

Mangaluru, January 10:  Dakshina Kannada district will get 29 new gram panchayats (GP), according to the new order issued by the state government, by which the total number of gram panchayats in the district would rise to 232.

In Bantwal taluk, Ammunje, Arala, Barimaru, Bolantoor, Irvathur, Kallige, Maninalkoor, Manila, Netlamudnoor, Peraje, Sajeepapadu, and Salethur GPs will be added. Athikaribettu, Badaga Yedapadaavu, Iruvail, Kondemoola, Mallur, Muttur, and Valpady, will be added to Mangaluru taluk. Kadirudyavar,Kalanja, Pilya, Navoor, and Tekkar will be the new GPs in Beletangady taluk. Four new GPs, Kadyakonaje, Keyyur, Kodipady and Nidpalli, will be added to Puttur taluk. Sullia taluk will get one GP additionally, which will be Peruvaje.

The number of new GPs in five taluks of the district will be Bantwal (59), Mangaluru (56), Beltangady (48), Puttur (41) and Sullia (28).

Udupi will get 16 new GPs, raising the total GPs to 162. Karkala will get Kalya, Chara, Nandalike, Kervashe, and Irvathur GPs to the present 29 GPs. Kundapur will get Gulwady, Gopady, Hosadu, Idoorkunhady, Katbeltoor, Kandavara, Korgi, Taggarse, Ulloor, and Yedamoge GPs, taking the tally to 66. Udupi taluk will get one additional GP, Neelavar. Hereafter, Udupi will have 62 GPs.
