Kundapur, January 10: Renowned singer Jesudas on January 10th has celebrated his 75th birthday in Kollur Sri Mookambika temple, as celebrated each year.
On his birthday, Jesudas arrived at the temple in the morning, after the darshan of Lordess Shree Mookambika, performed the Chandika Homa as vowed according to the Vedic rituals. Following this, special pooja was performed to the goddess and also performed the Aksharabhyasa Seva at the sanctum.
Over hundreds of fans, devotees who had arrived at the sanctum got the Aksharabhyasa seva performed to their children through Jesudas.
On this occasion, Jesudas sung devotional songs in front of goddess Mookambika. A number of devotees listened to the melodious voice of Jesudas.
Yearly, music program will be organized in the sanctum by the Jesudas fans on his birthday. Likewise music program was organized on Saturday as well. Huge crowd of devotees who had gathered in the temple could see Jesudas who greeted him on his birthday.
Jesudas spoke to the reporters during his visit and said, he too is an ardent believer of Shri Devi Mookambike, and visits the shrine since several years on his birthday. He said, he is not a master but a student of music and said, he has to learn a lot in the field of music, thereby exhibited his simplicity.
