Mangaluru, December 31: The Shiradi Ghat stretch of national highway 75 will remain closed from January 2nd– 2015 repair and up-gradation works, informed Ramanath Rai, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister.
The matter was discussed with the authorities and the decision was announced on Monday December 30th.
During the period from January 2 onwards till the repairs and development works are completed, the vehicles moving on this road have been asked to take alternative routes.
Other vehicles and KSRTC buses will traverse via Charmadi Ghat road.
Luxury buses will traverse through Madikeri-Mysore route.
Tankers and other heavy motor vehicles are requested to traverse via Honnavar-Bengaluru route.
In the meet, Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, MLA J R Lobo, Tulasi Maddineni- zilla panchayat chief executive officer and other officials were present.
