DC cautions MCC about malaria break-out; Keep a constant vigil he says..

Mangalore, May 22: Chairing a meeting to review city’s preparedness to face any challenges posed by this vector borne disease, N Prakash, DC has directed MCC officials to be alert to combat any outbreak of malaria, which is common during monsoon and also take up awareness programmes.

The meeting also decided to keep a constant vigil on the health of construction workers, who are working under different building contractors.

Further he said that Mangalore City Corporation will observe June as anti-malaria month. A survey of city residents will be carried out with help of students from nursing colleges. Health assistants will be outsourced to meet challenges posed by any likelihood of outbreak of malaria, deputy commissioner N Prakash said.
