Mangaluru, December 20: Sri Rama Sene chief Pramod Muthalik appeared before the second JMFC court, Mangaluru on Saturday December 20th to attend the court hearing of 2009-pub attack case.

Post the hearing, speaking to the media, Muthalik lashed out at the state Congress government and said, “pub attack case was dead, from 2009 till 2014, but now the Congress government with its anti-Hindu policies has reopened the case and said, he is ready to face it”.

Muthalik further said, the state government has also reopened the 2008 church attack case and discarded the Someshekar Commission report with the intention to set up a new commission to probe the attacks.

He said, for ten years, the Congress government at the centre had pleased the minorities, hence this time it was thrown out by the people, but the Congress in Karnataka has not learnt this lesson.

When queried why it took a long time for this case to progress, he said that, it was the responsibility of the government to file the charge sheet, but it failed to do so as the allegations were far from the truth and that it would not stand in court”.

Conversing on the controversial statements made by BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj a few days ago, Muthalik said that like Mahatma Gandhi who was a patriot; Nathuram Godse, too was a patriot. This fact can be known by reading his autobiography. The assassination of Mahatma Gandhi is a debatable matter, he said.
