Mangalore, May 20: A case of mudslide at a construction site in Derebail, Konchady has been reported on May 19, Sunday.
Since it was a day off for the workers no casualties were reported. Six months ago, in November 2012, a labourer was buried alive in a landslide that occurred at the same construction site.
After this incident MCC officials have issued a warning notice to take an adequate safety precautionary step. Accordingly, some cement plastering work was done on the affected area of the site as preventive measure and carried out construction work.
But it has happened again on May 18, Saturday night in the same place but it came to light only on Sunday morning. Had it occurred on May 19, Sunday morning, the casualties would have been much more as most of the labourers were busy working there inside the site.
