Mangaluru, December 5: A protest was staged by the JDS party activists against the failure of governance of the Central and State government in front of the Gandhi Statue stationed in front of Town hall here on Friday, December 5th.
Amarnath Shetty, JDS leader who addressed the protestors after garlanding the Gandhi statue said the central government has duped the citizens by not keeping up the promise made during the elections of cancelling the Aadhar cards. This Aadhar card procedure has put the citizens in confusion, he said.
Although the fuel prices have dropped, the bus fares are not yet reduced. The protestors demanded that the State government should consider this matter and drop the Tiger and Nethravathy River projects. The government should fix stable prices for Paddy and Arecanut in the market. The government should with draw the ban on Kambala and consent to conduct non-violent Kambala.
District president – B Mohammad Kunhi, Chengappa, Hamid Parthipady among others were present.
