Mangalore-based professor’s poems in Canterbury

Mangalore, May 16: Geralyn Pinto, associate professor and head of Department of English in St Agnes College has won fourth place for her short story – “No talking after lights out” in “Save as Writers,” an international open-themed creative writing contest. The competition was held recently at Canterbury, England.

More than hundred people from different parts of the world have taken part in this competition.

Geralyn Pinto has been invited to be part of the British Alibi Writers Group to participate in their monthly creative writing workshops.

  Her poems “We were balloons once, remember” and All stations on standby” has been selected, together with those of the other members of the Alibi Group. Geralyn’s poems are kept for display in “The Planets,” an exhibition at “The Beaney” in Canterbury till June 10.
