 Mangalore, October 22: The wedding news of young couple Sonia D’Souza (21) of Elyarpadavu and Roshan M.S (24) which took place at the Arya Samaj in Mangalore on October 16th Thursday was flashed in the media. None had dreamt it would take such turns soon.

It is gathered that, on Wednesday, October 22nd cases have been filed against five Bajrang Dal activists and Roshan Shetty at Konaje police station.

Vivita D’Souza alias Sonia daughter of Patrick D’ Souza from Eliyarpadav ha filed the complaint.

Roshan Shetty, had married Vivita D’Souza and VHP / Bajrang Dal activists Jagadish Shenava, Dinesh Kadri, Sharath Amblamogaru, Ganesh Kumpala and Praveen Kuthar are the persons against whom the cases of abduction and threatening have been filed.

The complaint says, Vivita D’ Souza who had been to Mangalore central market on October 16th met Roshan Shetty who was familiar to her. Roshan gave her some juice mixed with intoxicating substance and abducted her with the help of 5 others. Post this, they took her towards Moodbidri and attempted to sexually assault her. She was also forcibly detained and threatened by these people.

Complaint further states that Vivita was also asked to sign some documents at a lawyer’s office. She was forced to marry Roshan Shetty after she and her family was threatened by the accused.

Konaje Cops have booked cases under IPC sections: 143,147, 366,342,354,323,506 and 149.

Vivita D’Souza also called Sonia D’Souza, a catholic had entered into wedlock with Konaje resident Roshan, a Hindu on October 16th, at Arya Samaj in the presence of Hindu activists. The media also had covered the simple wedding ceremony. Before that the parents of Vivita had lodged missing complaint with the police.

Sources revealed that, the married couple had stayed only for four days together after which Vivita had returned to her parents.
