Mangalore, October 20: Hundreds of connections who were expecting their kith and kin to arrive at the MIA from Dammam by Air India flight by 3.30am on Sunday were seen damning the Air India and returning home after waiting for them at MIA till early morning.
The Dammam flight, was supposed to reach Mangalore at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Many were waiting from a long time at the airport to receive their relatives. But the flight had not arrived even if the day broke.
Soueces said, due to technical reasons the flight was cancelled at night itself. But the Air India authorities failed to pass this message to the relatives of travellers who were waiting there. The relatives were disappointed due to this.
AIE sources said that adequate accommodation has been arranged for all the stranded passengers at a hotel in Dammam and all their needs will be fulfilled till their departure.
The stranded passengers are expected to arrive on Tuesday morning at Mangalore International Airport said the Director J T Radhakrishnan.
