Kundapur, October 16: The Kundapur cops have registered a case of unnatural death on Wednesday, October 16th, based on the statement of the mother of Pramod Kharvi (24) who was found dead in a river at Kharvikeri in Panchagangavalli.
The victims mom has said that, few days ago Pramod who conversed with his mom over the phone had told her that his life was in danger and also mentioned the names of four persons. He also told her that he would quit the job. “My son is a good swimmer, he cannot die on falling into the river, I suspect his death”, uttered his mom.
Autopsy has been done at Manipal hospital and the mortal remains were handed over to the family.
Tension prevailed at the place on the suspicious death of Pramod. Rumours of murder were in the air On Wednesday, October 15th and the situation turned violent. The cops intervened and brought the situation under control. Police surveillance is positioned in the area for safety measures.
Forcing to investigate:
The residents of Kharvikeri on Wednesday morning, laid siege to taluk office alleging that the sand Mafia has killed this innocent young man. They placed the mortal remains of Pramod at Kundapur Shastri circle and protested. They had blocked the road.
During the protest, protestors exchanged words with Dy-SP C.B Patil who arrived at Shastri circle to pacify the protestors. Their expressed their dissatisfaction on the fact that the cops were hesitating to register a complaint. The Circle Inspector M Divakar appealed the protesters of providing justice, post which the angry mob calmed down. The funeral was conducted after carrying the dead body in a procession.
Haladi Srinivas Shetty, Kundapur MLA visited kharvikeri on Wednesday, October 15th and said condolences to the family.
