Mangalore: Charan resides at Moodushedde along with his wife and Kid. He is a carpenter by profession and also an activist of an hindu association. On October 8th 2014, around 11am he was at his residence. Then Charan went to the venue where the jeep was parked. The Sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar and two personnel’s were in the jeep. As Charan approached the jeep, the Sub-Inspector got down from the jeep striked him black and blue, post which Charan was taken to the police station in the same jeep.
In the police station, the two cops (One personnel Sharath who was familiar to Charan and the other not familiar to Charan) held Charan tightly against a cement pole where he was beaten-up severely by the Sub-Inspector Umesh Kumar until 3 lathis were completely shattered . However loud Charan screamed, it did not resist the cop from beating Charan. When queried as “Why do you strike me?” – they said how dare you to attend the court..
He was tortured for the reason that, in the past Charan had failed to attend the police station on some case, but straight away he went to the court and got the bail.
As a result of striking severely at his bottom, his blood has clotted and he is unable to walk now. He is even unable to sleep on his back .
