Mangalore, October 10: Once again, the smuggled gold strikes at MIA with advanced technology. The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport seized 204.000 grams of gold, valued at Rs.5,50,800/-, concealed in the form of a measuring tape, buckles of a rexine travel bag, buckles of sandals, handles of hair brush and pen refill which were all kept in a travel bag carried by the passenger who arrived from Dubai.
The passenger identified as Sarfras Povval Mohammed Kunhi, aged about 30 years, is a resident of Nagarakatte Cross Road, Fort Road, Kasaragod District.
He arrived at Mangalore International Airport on 09th October at about 10.15 pm by Air India Express flight from Dubai. Further investigation is under progress.
