Mangalore, October 9: A requisition letter has been submitted to the Central Bureau of Investigation through the Criminal Investigation Department of the state by the Mangalore Police Commissionerate requesting it to issue a international arrest warrant against a notorious criminal Rasheed Malbari, who is said to be an associate of underworld don Chota Shakeel.
On granting conditional bail, Malbari has reportedly gone absconding after being released from the Bangalore prison on July 21st,2014. He is suspected to have fled the country.
City police Commissioner R Hithendra, has revealed that the requisition letter has been sent to the CBI about 15 days ago.
The Mangalore CCB cops had arrested Malbari in 2009 on the charges of attempt to eliminate some leaders of BJP and Hindu organisations. Later he was moved from Mangalore to Bellary prison and then to a cell at Parappana Agrahara in Bangalore.
