Kundapur, October 9: The Karwar cops had arrested two notorious thieves who carried their operation at various places in and around kundapur. They were brought to Kundapur yesterday for investigation.

The duo namely Manju(22) and Manju (22)belongs to the same family who are basically from Karwar and were into the profession of selling glass bangles.

Their target was the residential area of the government employees. During the day they used to visit houses on the eve of selling bangles and were gathering information about the houses and plot for the burglary. During night they carried their operation and were unavailable for the cops.

They pretended to be innocents in the society. They had smartly burgled around 1kg of gold from an house.

They had begun burglary since 2010. The stolen valuables were sold for cheaper prices at Kundapur, Bhatkal, Byndur and other places.

Their food habits were strange- had the meat of cat and sucked the blood of Bats.

From the past four years, they used to sell the stolen jewellery to a jewellers shop at Kundapur. The proprietor of a jewellery shop at Kundapur was shocked to see the duo that came along with the cops to his shop on Wednesday, October 9th. Sources said that, the jeweller was paying meagre cash of 7-8thousands for the jewellery worth 1.5 lakhs.

The police have inspected the Jewellery shop and have taken the jeweller into custody.

The burglars are currently under the custody of Karwar cops and investigations are on.

During the investigations on Wednesday, Karwar  Dy-SP  P. Rama Aresiddu, cirle inspector Sharanappa Gowda Patil  and the police personnel’s were present. Kundapur sub-Inspector Nassir Husain co-operated for this investigation.
