Mangalore, September 26: During the month of October, the Government Office and Banks will get a total of four days of continuous leave. Along with this, there is also a three-day holiday.
Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2nd, Mahanavami October 3rd, Vijayadashami October 4th, Sunday (Bakr-Id) October 5th and hence for four-days; government offices, banks will remain closed. There will not be any holidays on October6th and 7th. Again holiday is given on the eve of Valmiki Jayanthi on October 8th. On October 22nd and 24th holidays are declared on the eve of Diwali. Overall, the month of October, is a bonus holiday.
A few years ago, bank’s businesses were not carried on the day of half-yearly-end of bank. But now the business is conducted. Hence on September 30th and on August 1st, holiday is not given. Bank transactions will be carried on. For the Schools’ – the Dasara vacation begins post Dasara on October 3rd after the culmination of all the festivities.
