Skies of Dieppe glimmered by the Team Mangalore

Mangalore, September 19: Making the sky full of colourful kites, the Team Mangalore participates with a bang. Dressed in Indian Attire firstly, marching through the streets of Dieppe and mutale. The skies were glittered with its new creations Vibhishana, Sangam and train kite faced Yaksha.  Rest of the kites Devendra, Gajaraja, Pushpaka vimana, Bharthanatyam, Durga, Garuda and more rose towards the sky with waves of the sea front of Dieppe.

India and Indonesia were featured as the Guest of Honour team at the festival. India was clubbed with Team Mangalore, Mumbai Golden Kite Club and Puppet Team of Rajasthan. On stage dance performance by the Indian settlers in France and Indonesia’s Elima Bogus Team highlighted the event. ‘The International Association Tagore Sangam’ founded on the initiative by an Indian in France, Azarie Aroulandom depicted the life biography of Rabindranath Tagore through photography exhibition. Dinesh Holla’s, ‘Pebbles’ line drawing works got exhibited at the exhibition stand of the festival. A good success to his art work put up at the stand was purchased by the art collectors and visitors.

Mr Sebastian Jumiel, Mayor of  Dieppe, felicitated Dinesh Holla with a letter and certificate recognising  his talent in designing the publicity poster of the festival. The poster was widely attracted by the viewers due to the signing session by Dinesh Holla and purchased by the visitors at the festival. It is indeed a fact of pride and honour to Team Mangalore.

The kites of Team Mangalore are a showcase of the workmanship of Mr Sarvesh Rao. Every kite worked on manually by his day and night stitching got highly appreciated. The subject of Indian culture and its colourful combination got recognition to Team Mangalore at this festival.
In Limca Book of Records Team Mangalore’s ‘Katakalli’ kite makes a place. Team Mangalore has participated in international kite festivals at UK, Canada, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Srilanka, Dubai and Qatar. The Team Mangalore has planned to make new creations of Matsyakanya and Maharaja in coming days.
