Colombo: A fisherman died after a fish flew into his mouth and remained stuck in his throat.
Mohammed Fisal, from Siribo area in southern coast of Hambantota, was attempting to take the fish caught in the net by biting off the wires using his teeth, when it jumped into his mouth.
Initially he was admitted to Debarawewa hospital and later transferred to Hambantota General Hospital where he was in coma until he passed away.
He is the third person to die in ‘fish attack’.
The 24-year-old had been fishing in a lake near Weerawila outdoor prison camp.
