Dubai: Former President of Pakistan General (retd) Pervez Musharraf will land in Karachi Sunday ending his four years of self-exile since 2009, with intention to contest the next general elections on May 11.
“I am ready to face unknown threats as I am ready to go back home as was announced,” Musharraf told after addressing his party supporters at a reception in Dubai on Saturday.
Musharraf arrived at the event with his supporters from around the world who plan to accompany him to Pakistan. He looked tired and was not in his usual high spirits. Even his speech was low in tone without his trademark aggressive ‘military’ touch.
Despite his uncertain political future and fading support, ambitious Musharraf said the would field candidates under the banner of his political party – All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) – from all over the country in the next parliamentary elections scheduled for May 11.
