Quake of 5.9 magnitude strikes off Japan’s northeast coast

Tokyo, June 8: An earthquake measuring 5.9 magnitude struck off Japan’s northeast coast on Monday, June 8th.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

The quake was 80km (50 miles) deep and centred 132km (82 miles) north northeast of Hachinohe, Honshu, the US geological survey said.
