Facebook helps raise $10 million for Nepal in two days

Facebook, the social networking platform, has managed to raise more than $10 million to help the victims affected in the Nepal. Facebook users around the world helped donate a little amount to raise a total $10 million towards the Nepal tragedy. Additionally, Mark Zuckerberg also stated that the tech giant will also put in $2 million from their side to the cause.

Facebook CEO and founder posted his status on Facebook stating, “We gave people the option on Facebook to support local relief efforts. In two days, more than half a million people donated and raised more than $10 million to support the International Media Corps relief effort. Facebook will donate an additional $2 million to local recovery efforts to help those in affected areas.”

The social giant has additionally activated a safety feature on the platform, which helps mark friends and family reveal them as safe in the tragedy.
