Wedding is one of the important events in a person’s life and a Tibetan couple’s wedding photos have taken China’s online community by storm with many Chinese users gushing over the backdrop in the photos coupled with the pair’s good looks.
Gerong Phuntsok and Dawa Drolma have clicked a series of pictures that show them enjoying coffee at a hipster cafe, amusement park, dressed in traditional Tibetian outfit in remote locations.
According to reports, the couple live in Chengdu, the capital of south-western Sichuan province. The contrast between modern and traditional has struck a chord between netizens hence the pictures have gone viral on social networking site Weibo. According to China’s official state news agency Xinuha, 80 percent of the country’s WeChat users have seen the couple’s photos.
Wedding photoshoots are gradually becoming a ritual, this couple’s photos in the traditional and modern perspective reflect the mindset of their generation. According to BBC, Tibet is adored by many Chinese for its raw natural beauty and exotic customs despite its tumultuous relationship with the rest of China.
