Varanasi: A case has been filed against Baba Ramdev’s aide and journalist Ved Pratap Vaidik in Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court on Wednesday in Varanasi on sedition charges over his meeting with 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed and also his comments over independent Jammu and Kashmir.

Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi, a lawyer, filed the complaint against Vaidik before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Tarun Kumar Singh who fixed July 25 for further hearing on the matter.

Demanding action against Vaidik, the petitioner has sought slapping of sedition charges against the journalist for meeting the 26/11 mastermind and his alleged remarks on the issue of Kashmir during an interview to a Pakistani-based news channel.

Vaidik actions and comments have hurt the sentiments of patriotic Indians and are threat to the country’s integrity and sovereignty, the petitioner alleged.

These are also an insult to the honour of martyred Indian soldiers, the lawyer said in his petition urging the court to summon Vaidik for taking action against him.
