Muzaffarnagar: A 23-year-old woman teacher was allegedly gangraped and threatened by three youths at Balwakheri village in the district, following which the accused have been arrested, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place last night when the teacher was engaged in a door-to-door campaign to increase enrolment of children in schools in Balwakheri village under Charthawal police station, Circle Officer Karamvir Singh said.
The three accused have been identified as Sorabh, Mohit and Vipin, Singh said. They also took an objectionable photo of the victim and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone, he said. The victim’s father lodged an FIR in this connection.
The three accused were arrested and presented before a local court on Sunday, police said. The victim has been sent for medical examination and investigations are on, they said.
In another case, a 7-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a youth at Vahelna village under Kotwali police station here, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place yesterday when the boy was playing outside his house and accused Karamvir picked him up and took him to a jungle nearby, they said. A case has been registered against the absconding accused, police said, adding that the victim has been sent for medical examination.
