New Delhi : Delhi Tulusiri to host ‘Bisu Parba’ & get together of Tulu people on April 27

Delhi Tulu Siri, a forum of people from Tulunad living in and around New Delhi and National Capital Region, is organizing a fun-filled get together of Tulu speaking people at Nehru Park near Chanakyapuri in the diplomatic enclave of New Delhi on Sunday the 27th April 2014.

 The event will be marked by various social, cultural and sports activities by Tuluvas in New Delhi. People from all walks of life are expected to join to celebrate the occasion of Tulu New Year Bisu with lots of fun, entertainment and enjoyment.

Eminent folklore scholar and critic Dr. Purushothama Bilimale, Mr. Vasanth Shetty Bellare, member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy and President of Delhi Karnataka Sangha, eminent advocates, media persons, senior officials from government, business persons, bankers, professionals, engineers, doctors, hoteliers and students will be participating in the programme.

The day-long programme scheduled as part of celebration of Tulu New Year Bisu will not only bring the Tulu speaking people living in National Capital Region together but also provide an opportunity to them to discuss on issues pertaining to their motherland, culture and language. The effort to put pressure on the Central Government to include Tulu language in the eighth schedule of Indian constitution will continue with new government being formed in June 2014.

Delhi Tulu Siri, earlier as Tulunad Development Forum and Tulu Koota was working in Delhi over two decades for inclusion of Tulu language in Indian constitution. An international conference under the chairmanship of Dr. Viveka  Rai, eminent scholar was organized last year with the participation of union ministers and eminent Tulu exponents.

Mr. Alok Rai, General Secretary of Delhi Tulu Siri requested all the Tulu speaking people in and around New Delhi and National Capital Region to join the get together being held between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. A spread of Mangalorean delicacies is also being planned for the lunch.
