NAGPUR, March27: Rural police are finding themselves in a piquant situation after a crazy teenager threatened them with committing suicide if they did not reunite her with the separated boyfriend.
The 17-year-old Standard XI girl had eloped with 22-year-old Krishna Pali around six months back. Following this, her parents had filed a complaint of abduction against Pali at Jalalkheda police station. Police caught the couple at Bhopal, handed over the girl to her parents and arrested Pali.
The problem started when the minor refused to go with parents and started creating scenes at the police station, asking cops to release Pali. Feeling that the girl needed counselling, police shifted her to rehabilitation centre, but the drama continued there too. The girl has been threatening the police that she would end life for which they would be blamed. She alleged that her parents had filed a fake complaint against Pali and said she was happy with him.
The girl was in love with her neighbour Pali since the last one year. When the minor’s parents came to know about the relationship, they put restrictions on her. The girl eloped with Pali in October last. She claimed the duo got married at a temple in Bhopal.
Initially, the parents did not file a police complaint and started a search for her on their own. When their efforts failed, they filed a complaint of abduction against Pali. Police searched the nearby places but without success. Police said the couple would keep changing places and it was difficult to nab them.
The couple stayed at Pune for some weeks and shifted to Aurangabad for a few months. They went to Bhopal from where the rural police rounded them up. The girl, according to police, has been creating scenes at the rehabilitation centre. Police are keeping a close eye on her to prevent her from taking any extreme step.
