Hrithik underwent a successful  Hinduja Hospital in Khar. The 39-year- actor was suffering from subdural haematoma, which is often caused by bleeding of veins in the brain after a head injury. The surgery started around 2 pm and went on for around 45 minutes. He was operated on by consultant neurosurgeon, Dr B K Mishra.

His father Rakesh Roshan played down the entire incident. “My son is a strong man. There’s nothing to worry about. There’s nothing serious. My entire family and I are with him. He will be fine soon,” the veteran actor-turned-filmmaker told HT Café.

It is believed that Hrithik suffered a blow to the head during the shooting of Siddharth Anand’s Bang Bang in Phuket a couple of months back. Ever since, he has had continuous headaches, and later, a clot formed between the brain membrane and the skull.

Hrithik is now likely to stay in the hospital for another 2-3 days. “For the past week or so, he was involved with post-production work of Krrish 3. That will get delayed now. Plus, he was supposed to leave for an outdoor schedule (of Bang Bang) soon after. That will also be rescheduled,” says an insider close to Hrithik.

Before going in for surgery, the actor posted on his Facebook page: “We all know that we create a life of joy using the power of our mind. I’ve had the privilege of creating wonders with this amazing gift given to us called the brain. Occasionally, one must look within and realize its value… I am going to go through brain surgery on Sunday and want you to know that I am going in with absolute power to recover fast…
