INDORE: A 10-year-old girl was locked in a flat in Ramkamal Residency township in Aerodrome area of Indore and raped repeatedly for at least a week allegedly by a goon-turned-property dealer with the help of a female aide.
The matter came to light on Saturday late night when a city police team assisted by Childline volunteers rescued the girl from the flat in the township located in Gomatgiri area.
A case was subsequently registered on Sunday against the two accused, Sunil Karosiya (45) and his female aide Pinky alias Sarita (25). “The duo on the run have been booked under sections 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave), 376D (rape with a minor), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons and means), (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and 23 (wrongful gain) of IPC,” additional SP (Indore West Zone II) Vinay Prakash Paul told TOI on Sunday.
According to sub-inspector at Aerodrome police station, Santosh Pandre, the police got the information from the Childline about the girl being locked in the flat, after which in a late night swoop, the girl was recovered from the flat. Later, female cops and members of Childline talked to the girl, who narrated about her sexual exploitation by Sunil and Pinky for at least one week.
The girl informed that it was on Friday that she was raped last by Sunil with Pinky’s help in the flat. The flat where Pinky stays is supposedly owned by Sunil only. The minor was subsequently taken by police to her parents, where she narrated the painful saga to them also, after which her mother submitted a complaint against Sunil and Pinky.
The minor girl and her parents (hailing from Sumta village of Depalpur-Indore) worked at Sunil’s farmhouse in Hatod area of the city. A month ago, Sunil, took the girl to the flat in Rajkamal Residency in the name of getting small jobs done. But for at least one week, Sunil used to come to the flat where Pinky stays and rape the girl. It was Pinky who first beat up the little girl and then helped Sunil rape the minor.
Sunil, a resident of Kalani Nagar area of Indore, is into property dealing business for the last few years and also runs a popular roadside restaurant in Gandhinagar locality of the city.
The middle-aged man has had a criminal past and was accused in 17-18 criminal cases (including a murder case) in the early 1990s, registered at Malharganj, Chandan Nagar, Rawji Bazar and Aerodrome police stations, the ASP added. “We’re conducting raids and will soon nab both Sunil and Pinky,” Paul maintained.
