After tis, he would visit Party headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’, where he would receive wishes and greetings from his party workers and functionaries.
He would address a public meeting at YMCA Grounds in the city in the evening.
Leaders of various political parties, whom DMK Treasurer M K Stalin met and invited them for his brother’s son Arulnithi’s wedding, were expected to personally greet Mr Karunanidhi on the occasion.
Political observers predict that the recent meetings might lead to realignment of political parties in the state ahead of the Assembly elections due in April-May next year.
It was also seen as possible move to unite all the Opposition parties under one roof to take on the ruling AIADMK in the polls.
Tens and hundreds of DMK workers from various parts of the state were expected to throng the city to greet their leader on that day.
