New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended birthday wishes to Vice President Hamid Ansari and prayed for his good health.
“Birthday greetings to Shri Hamid Ansari ji. I pray for his long life and good health,” Modi tweeted.
Born in 1937, Ansari is the 14th and current Vice President of India. He was elected as Vice President of India on 10 August 2007 and took office on 11 August 2007.
He is the only person to get elected for the Vice Presidential post for two consecutive terms after Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Born in Kolkata on April 1, 1937, Ansari is married to Salma Ansari.
