AGRA, February 25: A man who attempted to steal a buffalo lost his life at Nagla Mani village in Etmadpur, 25km away from Agra, in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
Cops said the enraged buffalo went wild once it reached the fields. The man’s hand got caught in the animal’s leash and he got dragged for nearly two kilometers, which eventually killed him, investigators said.
Police are yet to establish the identity of the person.
Babita Sahu, SP (rural), said the man died of grievous injuries to his chest, head and abdomen. No one has arrived to claim the body of the thief so far, the police official said. The body has been sent for autopsy.
