45,000 Schools in Madhya Pradesh Without Toilets

Bhopal:  Around 45,000 schools in Madhya Pradesh do not have toilets and efforts are on to construct them by June next year, state government said today.

Of the total 1.25 lakh schools government-run schools, about 45,000 are without lavatories and authorities are making efforts to have them built in the next six months, state Education Minister Paras Jain told reporters.

Central Government agencies have been given the task of constructing 13,300 toilets. For this purpose, Rs. 1.50 lakh each had been sought from funds of MPs from the state and Rs. 40 lakh each from the 230 MLAs, he said.

We have sought help from different state government establishments and private sector for building new lavatories, the Minister said.
