New Delhi: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim is hiding on Pak-Afghan border in northern Waziristan while Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency is looking for a safe haven for him, according to reports on Sunday.
Attempts to shift Dawood to a safe base are being made by ISI who tried to move him to Thailand, Nairobi, UAE and Bangladesh but plans were later changed the plan, sources further stated.
The decision to shift Dawood to UAE was cancelled at the last minute due to security concerns.
Bangladesh was also cancelled as the country shares a good relationship with India.
Senior officials of ISI and Pakistan Army have been reportedly entrusted with the responsibility of protecting Dawood.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, while speaking on the issue, said that the government is making efforts and asked for more time.
While addressing a summit yesterday, Singh had yesterday blamed Pakistan for terrorism, saying terror in India was not home-grown but sponsored by the neighbouring country.
