RANCHI: An intermediate college student died of excessive bleeding probably during her first sexual intercourse here on Sunday. The 17-year-old girl’s boyfriend was arrested in the morning after police recovered her semi-naked body from a hotel here.
Ranchi DSP (city) P N Singh said the boy confessed to having sexual intercourse with the student of Ranchi Women’s College at the hotel on Saturday night. “It was probably their first sexual experience during which the girl bled profusely and died. The bed sheet in the hotel room, where the body was found, was soaked in blood and there was no mark of injury or bruise on the body,” Singh added. The 16-year-old boy claimed that the deceased was his girlfriend and that they had planned to take their five-year-old relationship farther. Both hail from Gomia block in Bokaro and thought that Ranchi would be a safer place as it is around 120 km away from home.
The girl had been staying in a hostel here for the past one year while the boy recently passed matriculation examination. On Saturday morning, the boy booked a room (no. 202) at a hotel in Lalpur. The girl also arrived at the same hotel and booked another room (no. 203).
“Around 2am on Sunday, the boy probably sneaked into the girl’s room. As they indulged in sex, the girl started bleeding. The boy had tried to stop the bleeding by using cloths but all efforts were in vain,” an employee of the hotel told TOI.
The father of the deceased, Mahadeo Viswakarma, a daily wage-earner in Bokaro, has lodged a case of rape and murder against the boy.
