New Delhi: Even schools have become unsafe safe for girls in Delhi.
A bus conductor of a renowned private school in South Delhi has been arrested for molesting a minor girl, while helping her get off the bus at Chittaranjan Park earlier this week.
According to the victim, the 45 yr old bus conductor, Riyasat Ali, used to touch her inappropriately while she descended from the bus and that he had been doing this for the past few weeks.
Though the victim didn’t report the matter earlier to her parents, she narrated the incident when her parents got suspicious about her refusing to take the school bus.
The victim’s father told police that Ali used to regularly accompany her home from the bus stop and used the opportunity to touch her inappropriately.
However, the police arrested Ali from his house in Sangam Vihar, and a case was registered against him under various sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. The police has also contacted the school authorities for investigating the case.
Though Riyasat Ali denied all the allegations leveled against him initially, he later confessed it during the interrogation.
While Ali has been sent to Tihar Jail on 14-day judicial custody, the police are trying to find out whether he is involved in any criminal case or if he has molested other children as well.
