IndiaTv41d968_atmNew Delhi: In a sensational incident, some unidentified burglars struck at the ATM installed inside Vasanat Vihar  police station and decamped with a huge amount of money, according to a report published in TOI.

The thieves didn’t relent after that and they targeted a tea shop inside the police station and fled with cash worth Rs. 5,000 without cops and the SHO having any inkling of the incident.

Recently, two officers of the same police station, in whose jurisdiction the Nirbhaya case was probed, were also arrested on charges of rape and molestation.

Joint commissioner of Police, Vivek Gogia who is heading the Sunanda probe and DCP (south) Prem Nath, however, did not respond to queries from the newspaper.

According to the newspaper, the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when most of the police staff were in their deep sleep. Police got to know about the incident after a cop went to withdraw cash and saw the lower part of the ATM dismantled. The police station was shut down so no one got to know about the incident. The incident came to light after  the tea stall owner at the station boundary wall complained of theft in his cash box.

CCTV footage of the police station and ATM is being analyzed by the Police. To get the details of the case, cops are questioning suspects and all historysheeters of the area have been rounded up.
