Forecasters warn of flash floods in mountainous areas

Al Ain: Heavy rain on Tuesday lashed some of the eastern, southern, and central parts of the country along with light to moderate showers in the coastal areas, including Dubai.
With just one day left with what the current unsettled weather holds in store, forecasters have repeated their words of caution for motorists and the people living in the mountainous areas. “There are chances of light to moderate rain, time to time over some areas,” said forecaster.
The weather was just partly cloudy in most areas yesterday morning with bright sunshine, but scattered clouds appeared in the afternoon that later give rain in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Sharjah, Kalba, Fujairah and neighbouring areas.
In just few minutes, dry water streams started flowing. Residents of Wadi Hulo in Sharjah also reported hailstorm.
According to the forecast of the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), the weather will be cloudy to partly cloudy on Wednesday in general with chance of rain at times in some areas. Wind will be moderately rough, becoming fresh at times. Relative humidity will increase in inland areas at night and early morning.
