Three people were injured in a traffic accident involving a pick-up truck and a sedan on Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed motorway on Tuesday.
The accident took place when the driver of the pick-up truck lost control of the steering wheel after the vegetable market exit towards Sharjah, causing the vehicle to suddenly veer off the lane and turn over, and collide into an Infiniti car being driven by an Arab.
According to Major General Mohammed Saif Al Zafeen, Assistant to the General Commander for Operations Affairs, Dubai Police, three people in both motor vehicles suffered injuries of different degrees, and were taken to a hospital.
Both vehicles, he said, were badly damaged. The accident led to a major traffic jam, and police patrols had to rush to the area to ease the traffic flow.
