A 24-year-old Emirati motorist returning from work in the early hours of Tuesday died after his car veered off the road, overturned and plunged into a gorge in the Kadra locality of Fujairah.
The deceased, identified as R.M.K., was heading for Fujairah from his place of work when his car skidded on Khalifa bin Zayed Highway and turned turtle before it fell into the gorge. By the time police patrols, ambulance and rescue teams arrived on the scene, the motorist had succumbed to his deep wounds. The body was taken to a hospital’s morgue to be handed over to his family for burial after the formalities.
The traffic police urged motorists, especially those who work late into the night, to take rest before heading home. They also appealed to them to abide by the traffic rules and never speed.
