An Indian resident fell to his death from the 10th floor of a high rise in Jumeirah Lakes Tower (JLT) on Sunday evening.
It is not confirmed what caused the fall.
The man lived with his wife and parents in Al Seef 3, Cluster U.
According to building guards, the incident took place a little before 10pm.
A resident living on the third floor had seen a man falling from a higher floor, and called the reception to report the incident.
The man had landed on the terrace of the soon-to-open chicken restaurant Chesters. According to eye witnesses, the body was lying in a pool of blood for some time before it was found and removed.
According to a real estate agent who had sold the apartment to the deceased man and his family, he and his wife were newly-weds. “They bought the apartment around the same time last year. They were in the preparations of getting married at that time. They went to India for the wedding, and moved in on their return.
“It is very shocking. He was a very soft-spoken, gentle person. I cannot imagine what happened and why,” she commented.
Guards at the parking lot of the building, who keep a log book of every shift, report that the incident involved an Indian man from Mumbai, he was 27 years old.
