Nama Tuluveru UAE which recently successfully presented ‘Kaalachakra’ have completed five years of existence supporting Tulu language and culture in this part of the world; identifying new drama troupes from Tulunadu every time and introducing them to the Tuluvas in UAE. Tuluvas in UAE will always remember one of the most classical presentation of Nama Tuluveru, the ‘Tuluvere Parba 2012’ conducted in conjunction with various community organizations which proved to be an really extravaganza joint community charity event ever presented with many firsts to its record.
Stepping into 6th year, Committee Members of Nama Tuluveru met in Quick Bite Restaurant on Friday the 22nd November, 2013 at 10 AM to discuss further on the programmes for year 2014. The meeting was attended by Purushottam Salian, Sudhakar Alva, Prabhakar Suvarna, Satish Venkataramana, Noel Almeida, Ravi Shettigar, Sadan Das, Deepak S.P.., Mohd. Younus, Ajmal, Alwyn Pinto, Santosh Poojary, Ashwini Santosh, Dhananjay Shettigar, Ganesh Urwa, Guru Prasad, Ravi Raj Shetty, Athmika Salian & Shodhan Prasad. Other members who were not able to attend have informed of their prior commitment but extended their support as always.
Convener Shodhan Prasad welcomed the Members and started the meeting with prayer. Soon after the prayers the audited accounts on the previous programmes were discussed which was shared to all the members. Like in the previous meetings, Shodhan Prasad once again suggested that a new Convener be elected to take Nama Tuluveru forward into the 6th year. Though the members as usual requested Shodhan to continue, he this time insisted that there should be a change since Nama Tuluveru is moving into 6th year, it requires a new person to come up and lead with new ideas. Members then suggested names of Satish Venkataramana, Purushottam Salian, Sudhakar Alva and Noel Almeida. Finally Sudhakar Alva was unanimously chosen to lead Nama Tuluveru into 6th year as Convener and he accepted the responsibility. Shodhan while wishing Sudhakar Alva, confirmed his continued support and requested all the members to extend same support to Sudhakar in leading Nama Tuluveru into greater heights.
Sudhakar Alva one of the stalwart of UAE Bunts is well known sportsperson who gave a new light to ‘Throw Ball’ in UAE with his Coaching and Umpiring most of the famous competition events in this part of the world. Whether it is Sharjah, Dubai or Abu Dhabi his presence is essential as a referee for a professional ‘Throw Ball’ competition event to conclude. He is the person who contributed in forming Bunts Throw Ball Team in Dubai. Other than that he is the pioneer in conducting ‘Shri Satyanarayana Pooja’ for UAE Bunts systematically with record number of poojas. He is also instrumental in leading Bunts Blood Donation Campaign into Blood Donation Centre and successfully conducting this programme as a part of community service. He also contributed a lot in Bunts Souvenir release recently. Moreover he served in Nama Tuluveru and his contribution in Community Service is tremendous throughout these years both in UAE and India and also being honoured in various occasions. A jewel of a person he is being liked my many Tuluvas and Kannadigas for his straight forwardness approach. Nama Tuluveru UAE is proud to have him in the Committee and wished him all the best for his new role.
Planning ahead Nama Tuluveru released their activities for the coming year with Blood Donation Campaign, Community Cricket Tournament & Iftar Party the dates of which will be released shortly. Though Nama Tuluveru wanted to host ‘Tuluvere Parba’ once in five years; there were many requests from the Members as well as Tuluvas to hold this at least once in two years. Hence Nama Tuluveru has decided to have this extravaganza charity event ‘Tuluvere Parba’ once again in 2014 on 28th November, 2014 differently and the venue will be declared at a later date.
Nama Tuluveru, promoting Tulu Culture with a cause, thanked all the well wishers for their kind support in their charitable events and requested their continued support in the future programmes too.
